Dr. Pamela D. Roberts is a Professor of Plant Pathology and State Extension Specialist for Vegetable Pathology at University of Florida, Southwest Florida Research and Education Center, Immokalee, FL. She received her B.Sc. in Horticultural Sciences from Kansas State University, M.S. in Plant Pathology from University of Hawaii, and Ph.D. in Plant Pathology from the University of Florida.
Dr. Roberts’ research focus is on sustainable disease management. Her program conducts research and extension programs on the diagnosis, epidemiology, and integrated management of plant diseases with emphasis on diseases on vegetables and other specialty crops. Dr. Roberts manages the Florida Extension Plant Disease Diagnostic Laboratory at SWFREC. This service provides plant disease diagnosis and disease management recommendation to clients.
Her extension program provides educational information on plant diseases and field demonstrations and evaluation of integrated management strategies for the management of diseases. She has been awarded the UF/IFAS Jim App Team Award and The Dallas Townsend Distinguished Extension Award for her extension service. Dr. Roberts serves as Editor-in-Chief of the American Phytopathological Society journal Plant Health Progress.
