Soil Amendments

Numerous commercial products are available that aim to add microbes to soils for improved root growth, nutrient uptake, and overall plant health. However, there is a wide array of factors than can impact the establishment and growth of introduced bacteria and fungi, including soil type, water availability, nutrient availability, temperature, and crop. The Strauss lab is examining the interactions between these variables and introduced microbes to determine their effectiveness and impact on Florida vegetable production.
