Rhizosphere Development of Rootstocks

Citrus rootstocks, like many fruit and nut tree crops, are generated through seed germination, cuttings, or tissue culture. While different propagation methods are known to impact the overall health and growth of roots, there is no information on how these methods influence the development of the rhizosphere microbial community. As the rhizosphere community can significantly impact plant growth and nutrient uptake, examining the interaction between rootstock, propagation method, and rhizosphere development may provide an avenue for improving plant growth and productivity.
