Current Opportunities I do not have funding to support additional graduate students at this time. As a member of the faculty of the University of Florida Department of Wildlife Ecology and Conservation (WEC), all potential graduate students must meet the requirements established for graduate education by the University of Florida Graduate School and WEC. Minimum requirements GRE: Verbal = 550; Quantitative = 550; Total = 1100 Upperdivision GPA = 3.0 for Masters level admission Masters GPA = 3.25 for Ph.D. level admission (the Admissions Office calculates GPA based upon the student’s first 60 hours). The Application (none being accepted at this time) It is my policy to request that potential graduate students provide me with a concise cover letter describing their professional goals, interests, and special skills. I also require a resume with names of 3 references, and official copies of both transcripts and GRE scores (when available). I will review all applications and keep competitive candidates on active file for one year. Applications will be evaluated against other potential candidates as opportunities arise, but I also encourage you to describe your own ideas that may create your own opportunities. I will evaluate your writing, organizational skills, and experience based on what you send me and the competition is fierce, so prepare your package carefully. Financial Support I generally accept students only when I can provide them with financial support. As a condition of accepting financial support, graduate students are expected to contribute to project-related work activities. SWFREC is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Institution |
