Agronomy - Agronomy is the science of crop production. It incorporates basic sciences, such as biology, chemistry, physics, geology and microbiology, into an applied science which is the foundation for most agriculture. See homepage for details.

Animal Science - The mission of the SWFREC animal science program is to conduct research and disseminate information through Extension programs to assist Florida’s livestock industry to achieve efficient production. See homepage for details.

Citrus Horticulture - The citrus horticulture program serves the extension and applied research needs for 179,093 acres of commercial plantings in the Southwest Florida Gulf Coast region. Program areas emphasized include nursery tree production, nutrition sources for establishing young trees, general cultural practices during tree establishment, and environmentally sound cover crops for row middles in bedded flatwoods groves. Economics - The economic program at SWFREC supports other applied research programs in Florida with economic data and strives to improve the quality of cost, price and market information available to Florida farm owners and managers. See homepage for details.

Soil & Water Science - The soil and water science program is involved in research and extension activities in soil fertility and water management, with the objective of increasing nutrient use efficiency while minimizing the impact to the environment. See homepage for details.

Vegetable Horticulture - The vegetable horticulture program provides statewide leadership in both research and extension, specifically in the areas of vegetable transplant production and stand establishment. See homepage for details.

Water Resources - The mission of the water resources group is to develop high-quality information to support water management decision-makers in Southwest Florida. This information is based on field research, analysis of regional water resources, and hydrologic model simulation. See homepage for details.

Weather Station - The weather station site deals with both current and archived local weather data collected by the station at SWFREC. See homepage for details.

Wildlife Ecology - The mission of the wildlife ecology program at SWFREC is to provide information that promotes understanding, conservation, and management of wildlife and wildlife habitat on public and private lands. See homepage for details.
