Type and parentage: Grapefruit Marsh was the most widely grown grapefruit variety in Florida until recently when the pink and red selections gained prominence. However, it retains its popularity in the domestic and export fresh market. The fruit is commercially seedless and has a pale yellow flesh and a large open cavity in the fruit center. It remains the major grapefruit variety for processing. Selections available at the Immokalee Foundation: University of Florida, Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, 1999 |
