This web page has been developed to assist people interested in the beef cattle industry to obtain information about different aspects involved with cow-calf operations.  My goal is to bring together the best information available to assist beef producers to increase their production efficiency while remaining compatible with the environment by maintaining or enhancing the natural ecosystem.

Most successful cow-calf operations depend on a high weaned calf crop percentage, maximal total pounds of beef produced per female in the herd and a competitive market price for quality calves while minimizing cost of production.  In accomplishing this goal, ranchers must carefully study all management practices available, technology, and financial and marketing tools in attempt to optimize returns to the cow-calf operation.

In addition to this Web Page, Extension publications are available through the Cooperative Extension Service, University of Florida, Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences.  Your local county Extension livestock agent can assist you in identifying a wide variety of educational programming efforts aimed at optimizing returns to your ranching operation.  Please contact or visit their office.
